Statement on Measure L

"I oppose Measure L as it asks Pacificans to approve a project without the benefit of a development agreement and an environmental impact report. Public policy cannot be made by signing a contract without knowing the terms," said Assembly Speaker pro Tem Leland Yee.

"In addition, I am concerned about the possible environmental impacts of the potential development on the quarry site."

Indeed, Measure L is not a survey or a "study" or a straw-poll or even a "project": it's a permanent zoning change to allow 355 housing units in the Quarry, in exchange for nothing more than promises and watercolor drawings.
